Pyasso 1.0

Pyasso methodology

We explain in full how the ratings are calculated. Whenever the formula changes, the version number changes too.

1. Data sources

Each attribute is a weighted average of four sources: measurements, match statistics, scout reports and Pyasso editorial assessment. If no source exists for an attribute, “—” is shown on the page; in the calculation the group average is used temporarily and the confidence range widens.

SourceWeightExample
M Measured (sprint, jump, Yo-Yo)1.0Sprint 34.2 km/h → Sprint speed 79
S Calculated from match statistics0.82.4 successful dribbles per 90 minutes → Dribbling rating
R Scout report0.6Watched in a match: Technique 7/10
E Pyasso editorial assessment0.5Video analysis

2. From statistics to attributes

Statistics are normalised per 90 minutes, and the player is compared with players in the same position in leagues of a similar level (percentile p). The percentile is converted to a z-score of the normal distribution and scaled by the league coefficient k:

yetenek = (25 + 50·k) + (8 + 6·k) · z(p)

The metrics of a player with few minutes are pulled towards the median with a weight of 900 minutes, so a handful of brilliant matches does not inflate the rating.

3. League tiers

Every league in the world is assigned a tier from 1 to 10. The coefficient k determines how much “weight” the statistics carry; the market factor determines the effect on value.

League tierkMarket factorExample
11.001.00Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1
20.850.75Süper Lig, Primeira Liga, Eredivisie, Brasileirão, Liga Profesional
30.750.60Championship, Scotland, Austria, Switzerland, MLS, Saudi Pro League
40.660.50TFF 1. Lig (Turkey), Poland, Japan, Korea, Egypt, Morocco
50.580.42South Africa, Peru, Kazakhstan, third tiers of major countries
60.500.35Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal; leagues of smaller European countries
70.430.28TFF 2. Lig (Turkey), non-professional national leagues
80.360.22TFF 3. Lig (Turkey), regional leagues
90.300.18Amateur leagues (BAL in Turkey, provincial leagues)
100.250.15Youth and academy leagues

4. Power rating

Power is the average of the attributes, weighted by the player's detailed position. For a winger, pace and dribbling count more; for a centre-back, marking and tackling. The team's position in the league table adds a small adjustment.

5. Pyasso Team Score

The Pyasso team may give each player a score from 1 to 10; a score cannot be entered without a justification and is logged. Scores from several team members are averaged. Its effect on power is at most ±5 points and is shown separately on the profile.

etki = (not − 5,5) × 5 / 4,5    →   1 = −5 · 10 = +5

6. Potential

Potential = power + age margin + development bonus. The age margin decreases from +18 at age 17 to +2 at age 25, and is zero at 26 and over. An increase in power over the last 12 months adds a bonus of up to +5.

7. Data completeness and confidence range

Identity details, minutes played in the last two seasons, measurements, scout reports, the team score and verification make up a completeness ratio. Power is shown with a ± range based on this ratio:

± = 2 + 10 × (1 − doluluk)

8. Market value

Value increases exponentially with power and is adjusted for the age curve, the potential gap, contract length, position and the league's market factor:

€ = 300.000 × e^(0,155 × (güç − 50)) × yaş × potansiyel × sözleşme × mevki × lig pazarı

The result is not a single figure but a range based on the confidence range. In tier 8–10 (amateur) leagues, a “potential value” is shown: the player's estimated value if they turn professional. The coefficients are regularly calibrated against actual transfer fees.

9. Minors

Players under 16 are not added automatically; they are published only on a parent's application and with their consent, after an editorial check. These profiles do not appear in search engines and show no value or ranking. No value is shown for players aged 16–17.

10. Limitations

Match statistics cannot directly measure attributes such as pace, jumping and heading; these come from measurements, scout and editorial data. In lower leagues statistics are scarce, so confidence ranges are wide. If you spot incorrect information, please report it via the data request form.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Pyasso rating measure?

It shows a player’s current football strength on a 1–100 scale. 26 attributes are weighted by the player’s position and the level of the league is taken into account.

How is an amateur player compared with a Premier League player?

Every league has a level from 1 to 10. Statistics are compared with players in the same level group and scaled by the league coefficient, so strong numbers in a lower league do not inflate the rating.

Is the market value a real transfer fee?

No. The value is an estimate based on power, age, potential, contract and league market, shown as a range. It is regularly calibrated against completed transfer fees.

How is a player added to Pyasso?

Players in professional leagues come automatically from our data provider. Others are added through the free talent application form; for under-18s a parent or club must apply.

How often are ratings updated?

They are recalculated every night. At the start of each month the period is closed and the monthly power history is saved.

Power, potential and value are estimates by the Pyasso algorithm based on the data we hold. They are not official transfer fees and must not be used as investment or transfer advice. Editorial and corrections policy · Our team
